Cinematography Tests

May
01

I have recently been testing RAW video recording on my Canon 100D with Magic Lantern firmware installed.

For the 100D / SL1 I have settled on a 2.50:1 aspect ratio at close to 1080p as the buffer isn’t that large on the camera.

Caffeine Episode One – Alpha 2016 Steam Branch

Dec
06

Hello everyone,

I know that it has been slow going for Caffeine updates this year and would love to announce that I have added a new alpha build of Caffeine to Steam which will be available as a “beta” branch to everyone who owns the game already.

The build in this new branch is being updated with features and fixes which will make up the final patch to Caffeine Episode One, at this time the playable area is similar to the original demo in size and will expand over the next few weeks.

To enable this experimental build of the game, head to the Beta tab under Caffeine’s Steam settings and select “alpha2016” with the password “coffeeisthekey” .

Please take note that this is a very experimental branch intended to gauge compatibility issues and performance improvements, please send bug reports to dylan@incandescentimaging.net.

Thank you all for remaining patient with me, and enjoy the holidays!

Caffeine Episode One – Update v120 Details

Jul
27

Hello all,

I know it has been a long while since I have updated Caffeine’s development and this has been in part because I recently became a father and of course my time has been mainly dedicated to that and my day job.

Only recently have I been able to continue work on the final patch for Episode One and it is now getting somewhere!

Update v120 is intended to be the last major patch for Episode One and hosts a huge number of optimizations and graphical updates along with various VR improvements as well.

Today I would love to share some comparison images for the update and am happy to report that not only is the game looking a heap better it is also performing a hell of a lot faster and more importantly, smoother!

Update v120 should be available within the next month hopefully and I will be talking more about it before release as my available time increases!

Caffeine AVCon 2015 Demo

Jul
22

As an extra special treat for all you guys, I have decided to upload the AVCon 2015 Demo of Caffeine for all to have a play with.

Some things to note:

As this is a convention build it was designed as a short contained demo to give players a taste of the atmosphere of Caffeine, this includes some awesome new sound design by Jonathan Wachoru and music from Bay Drive Sound’s Adam Klingman.

The demo is targeted at 1080p 30fps for demo purposes, you can change this in the settings menu.

As the game is still in development the demo is not representative of the final game.

Caffeine at AVCon 2015

Jul
21

Once again this year Caffeine graced AVCon with its smooth visuals and eerie soundtrack.

We were lucky enough to be one of the 50 indie games selected to be shown in the Indie Games Room section in Adelaide, South Australia.

The whole weekend was admittedly a little bit of a blur but the turnout was fantastic and the feedback was invaluable.

Be sure to check out my admittedly shonky photos snapped over the weekend below as well as the trailer for the Indie Games Room
